Although there are no fire protection codes associated with private residences, we recommend that you have one extinguisher on each floor of the home, one in the garage and one in each outbuilding. At least once per year, you should check to make sure the gauge is in the green and that the powder is flowing inside the extinguisher. If you tip the extinguisher upside down and right side up, you should be able to feel powder moving inside the extinguisher. If you cannot, please bring it to the shop or call us at 989-862-4438.

According to the NFPA, cooking is the number one cause of fire in homes. Leaving cooking unattended or falling asleep during cooking causes more than 40% of fire fatalities each year. The Guardian residential system not only extinguishes the fire but also shuts off the power to the stove to prevent reignition. The system can also be tied into an alarm panel to automatically alert the fire department if there was a fire.
